Our board members were either born and raised in Maine or have a close tie to the state from when we attended college or lived and worked there for many years of our lives. We all love Maine and enjoy connecting with others who share that feeling.

In my youth, I spent many days canoeing the Saco River, camping in the mountains, floating on the pond at my family’s camp near Fryburg, or strolling along the beaches of the Saco Bay. I always work to maintain connections to Maine, whether it is through the MSS, Wreaths Across America, or as a trustee with Thornton Academy.

I am living out my own version of the classic Maine Story Miss Rumphius, having grown up living by the sea on MDI, traveling the world, and making it a more beautiful place as a baker of classic baked goods (including blueberry crisp, scones, and the occasional whoopie pie). I am currently doing fundraising and community relations for my local public library, when I am not hiking or swimming.

I was born and raised in a small Maine town and I miss much about it, but mostly the great people and beauty of the state. I have lived all over the world but continue to think of Maine as home. I love being part of the Maine State Society and connecting with others from our “great little state.”

When not at home in Springfield, my husband Wayne and I are often attending one of the dozens of Wreaths across America events annually with our close friends and Wreaths Across America founders, Morrill and Karen Worcester. We have a “camp” in coastal Maine we return to in warmer months.

My grandparents began vacationing in Maine in the 1920s so it is a special place for us. While at UoM Law School, I crewed in the Thursday night sailing races at Portland Yacht Club and have vivid memories of scouting the best courses by judging the running tides’ effect on the lobster pot buoys in Casco Bay.

While not born in Maine, I call Maine my home being raised there from 3rd grade through college. My wife Ann and I love our time each year visiting Maine and keeping up the "camp" my parents built in Hancock. We are both very active in the Wreaths Across America organization's mission to Remember, Honor and Teach about our veterans.

Though I am a naturalized Mainer, I’m fierce in my devotion!

I grew up surrounded by the ocean in Eastport and spent many a day catching mackerel off the Eastport Breakwater. I return to Maine with my son as often as possible to care for my apple orchard and to instill a love of Maine in him.

Lives In Delaware
After living in Fairfax and working as an Accountant, I now live in Delaware. My husband Carl is a University of Maine graduate as well as a Past President of the MSS himself. I had the good fortune to work at the University of Maine Orono, under the direction of Dr. Poulton, at the time Dow Air Force Base was closing and UMO was building the Bangor Campus. That was before the dawn of desktop computers. A real learning experience that taught me a lot.
